Our 5 day mission in Guatemala set a record of over 2,825 children seen on a KIDS trip (Kids International Dental Services), with 1,688 extractions and 252 fillings. The beauty of Guatemala never gets old! These Mayan families who are trying to rebuild their lives after terrible genocide, live in unimaginable poverty. Most of the children that we treated this week are suffering from severe malnutrition, which is made worse by the pain from their decaying teeth. The work that our tireless team has done here will save lives. It has been both an exhausting and exhilarating week with an extraordinary and very special group of people. I'm so lucky to be part of KIDS Guatemala 2015!
