Drew is 14 years old and has a genetic problem called amelogenesis imperfecta. This disorder causes a problem with the development and structure of teeth, affecting the size, enamel, appearance, and making them prone to wear and breakage. In Drew’s case, his teeth were small, discolored and damaged. It was difficult for him to socialize and he struggled with this in school.

Because of his age, he was not yet a candidate for crowns to be made to correct the problem. Dr. Reza Khazaie made an overdenture for him to have normal looking teeth, which in turn has helped his confidence both in school and socializing. When Drew reaches age 19 he will be able to have permanent dental crowns made.
